Linner Park House | Minnetonka, MN

Gallery
Profile

Created for a family of four on an open site overlooking a wetland to the south, the three level Linner Park house is designed to optimize natural light and extend the living spaces into the site on all three levels. A car court on the north side creates an outdoor play space carved into the site, sheltered by a landscaped slope. The house is anchored to the site by a textured white concrete masonry wall that is folded and extended into the land, shaping outdoor spaces on the lower level, main level terrace, and platform for the private spaces of the third level. The Main-level is composed of limestone walls that create an entry “object” and bookends, surrounded by floor to ceiling glass defining the “Public realm” of living spaces that extend to a terrace on the south, a screen porch and edible garden on the east. The Upper-level “Private Realm” is defined by a floating L-shaped form of wood clad siding and aluminum screens surrounding an office and screened room, bedroom suites, and craft/gym space over the garage, with adjacent outdoor room to the east. The Lower-level houses office, exercise, entertainment, and guest suite spaces.
